This training will provide information about changes to the New York Statewide Central Registry (SCR) that took effect in 2022 and about sealing and amending your SCR record.
At the start of 2022, legislation went into effect that changes how NY State’s SCR operates. This training will provide information about the legislation’s four major changes to the SCR and how the changes impact families and communities. It will also provide information about your rights and the process for sealing and amending your record in the SCR.
This training will be hosted by Rise and facilitated by Chris Gottlieb, Co-Director of the NYU School of Law Family Defense Clinic. This training is open to the public but most relevant to parents impacted by the child welfare system in New York State.
