Rise’s Spring 2022 Core cohort began meeting this week, providing training for Parent Advocates working in NYC foster and preventive agencies. The program begins with a focus on community building and an introduction to restorative justice practices. The training series covers topics including Rise visiting and service planning TIPS, the Rise 90-day model to support reunification, relationship building, parents’ legal rights, systemic oppression, toxic stress, community organizing, legislative advocacy and the history of child welfare. The program includes writing and public speaking workshops.
