Noshin Hoque is a political social worker and social justice advocate. She recently graduated with her MSW, specializing in policy practice, from Columbia University. Noshin is passionate about environmental justice, educational equality, immigration rights—and most importantly, envisioning alternatives to current oppressive systems. Noshin worked with the Congressional Research Institute for Social Work and Policy, Legislators at the Suffolk County Legislature, and the Action Lab for Social Justice throughout her professional career. She was also a member of the NASW-NYS PACE committee, where she endorsed over 20 candidates running for elected office. In her role as policy coordinator at Rise, she hopes to build connections with communities and advocate for social justice through policy and structural change.
Rise is excited to welcome Noshin to our team! As policy coordinator, Noshin will support Rise’s shift to community organizing to reverse NYC’s over-investment in family policing and under-investment in communities.
